CONTROLLER

DESCRIPTION

OlympiaWest Mortgage Group, a dynamic mortgage banking firm, is searching for a team oriented, experienced Controller to join our organization.

The Controller will lead us in building the necessary financial systems, management reports and best practices to support our growth. The Controller will report directly to the CEO and President of the company.

REQUIREMENTS:

Responsibilities include:

- Oversee accounting for all transactions
- Applicable trend and metric analysis
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance and accounting staff on all issues
- Ensure that financial practices and procedures comply with GAAP requirements
- Manage all activities related to the various external and internal audits
- Act as a key advisor in all financial matters including; strategic planning; revenue projections; cost savings initiatives; identify financial risks; facilitate the resolution of operational issues

Experience / Training / Education required:

  •   Bachelors degree in general business, accounting or finance MBA preferred


  •   10 plus years related finance and accounting experience. At least 5 years prior work experience in public accounting and financial services industries. Prior experience in mortgage banking industry preferred


  •   Five or more years experience in managing and reporting business results in a timely and accurate manner with knowledge of all phases of accounting, forecasting and reporting tools
  •   Experience with business tax returns is a plus

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities required:

  •   Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis and financial modeling based on key performance metrics
  •   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •   Excellent interpersonal skills
  •   Computer skills: Intermediate MS Word, Advanced MS Excel, Intermediate to advanced MS Outlook, Intermediate MS Access, intermediate Internet, basic MS PowerPoint. Knowledge of AMB Accounting software a plus
  •   Ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines
  •   Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction
  •   Ability to develop, interpret and apply required policies and procedures
  •   Ability to work in a team environment
